Certified Nurses Day
This annual holiday celebrates hardworking certified nurses around the country.
Summary: Certified Nurses Day™ takes place every March 19th on the birthday of Dr. Margretta Madden Styles, RN, EdD, FAAN. Style implemented the first comprehensive study of credentialing in nursing and later development the standards and credentials for nurses. Today, hospitals and other organizations celebrate Certified Nurses Day™ as a way to recognize the nurses who’ve earned the highest credentials in their field.
The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) ANCC has created a toolkit for organizations looking to participate in Certified Nurses Day.
What to do: “Happy Certified Nurses Day!” is a fine greeting. Employers are encouraged to celebrate the day with signage, a letter of appreciation, small gifts or a luncheon.
