Summary: Also known as Coach Appreciation Day, this annual holiday occurs on October 6 and honors the coaches in our lives. President Richard Nixon issued a proclamation in 1972 naming October 6th as National Coaches Day. While people typically only think of athletic coaches, other coaches may also be celebrated on this day, like a life coach or a financial coach.
